The Evaluation of Uncertainty in Blood Flow Velocity Measurement Error of Color Doppler Ultrasound Instrument
Objective To comprehensively evaluate the uncertainty of blood flow velocity measurement error of color Doppler ultrasound instrument. Methods With the selection of 10 color Doppler ultrasound instruments, the sources of uncertainty in blood flow velocity measurement errors of color Doppler ultrasound instruments were identified based on the methods and requirements for blood flow velocity calibration in JJF1438-2013,JJF(Anhui)130-2022,and JJF(Hebei)3028-2023 standards. In addition, the uncertainty of the measurement error of blood flow velocity using color Doppler ultrasound was comprehensively considered, including the evaluation of standard uncertainty, composite standard uncertainty, and extended uncertainty. Results The uncertainty introduced by repetitive measurement was 0.45 cm/s,the uncertainty introduced by the standard was 0.58 cm/s(simulating the blood flow phantom itself)and 0.03 cm/s(temperature 23℃),the uncertainty introduced by Doppler angle selection was 0.35 cm/s,the uncertainty introduced by flow meter inaccuracy was 0.72 cm/s,the standard uncertainty introduced by flow correction factor was 0.29 cm/s,the uncertainty of flow velocity resolution measured by pulsed wave doppler(PW)probe was 0.045 cm/s,the composite standard uncertainty was 1.1 cm/s,and the expanded uncertainty was 2.2 cm/s.Conclusion In this study, the uncertainty assessment results of blood flow velocity using 10 selected color Doppler ultrasound instruments were true and reliable, which can provide accurate measurement data for clinical patients to quantitatively evaluate the blood supply status of superficial vessels and ensure the accuracy of various indicators of patients.
