Medical consumables play an indispensable role in medical diagnosis and treatment.With the rapid development of the medical consumables industry,the types of medical consumables are constantly increasing,and the speed of updates and replacements is fast,which increases the difficulty of management.With the reform of DRG/DIP payment method,medical consumables,as a simple cost item,no longer bring economic benefits to hospitals.Therefore,the management level of medical consumables directly affects the quality of medical services and hospital economic benefits.In this study,with the analysis of the common problems in hospital medical consumables management in the context of current healthcare reform,the refined management of hospital medical consumables was introduced from multiple perspectives,including increasing attention to consumables management,improving systems,unifying consumables catalogs,strengthening secondary warehouse management,reducing hospital consumables prices,incorporating consumables cost accounting into performance evaluations,and enhancing consumables information management level.Since the implementation of refined management of medical consumables in the hospital in 2023,the time and correct rate of data entry for changes in medical consumables medical insurance codes,annual consumables costs,monthly usage and amount query time had all significantly decreased,and the overall average medical consumables cost per hospitalization in the hospital had shown a downward trend.The refined manaqement of hospital medical consumables effectively reduced the operating costs of hospitals,improved the management level of medical consumables,and promoted the continuous improvement of medical quality.
