Objective To explore the application effect of 6S management method in ICU instrument safety management.Methods With the retrospective analysis of the management situation of 30 instruments in the hospital ICU from January 2022 to December 2023,among them,routine safety management was implemented from January to December 2022 as the control group;From January to December 2023,the 6S management method was used for ICU instrument safety management as the observation group.The ICU instrument management effectiveness(usage record completeness rate,placement standardization rate,instrument integrity rate),management efficiency(time consumption for environmental cleanup,instrument retrieval,and maintenance),and safety indicator scores were compared between the two groups.Results The completeness rate of usage records was 93.33%,the placement standardization rate in the observation group was 96.67%,and instrument integrity rate was 93.33%,which were higher than 40.00%,33.33%and 46.67%in the control group,and the differences were statistically significant(P<0.05).The time consumption for environmental cleanup and instrument retrieval in the observation group was shorter than that of the control group,while the time consumption on instrument maintenance was longer than that of the control group,and the differences were statistically significant(P<0.05).The safety index scores of the observation group were higher than that of the control group,and the differences were statistically significant(P<0.05).Conclusion With significant effects,the application of 6S management method in ICU instrument safety management can improve management effectiveness,management efficiency,and safety index scores.
