Genome-Wide Identification of the LRR-RLK Gene Family and SIF Subfamily Gene Expression Profiling in Maize
The leucine-rich repeat receptor-like kinase(LRR-RLK)is one of the largest families of the recep-tor-like kinase(RLK)superfamily in plants which function in plant growth, development, abiotic and biotic stress re-sponses.The Stress Induced Factor(SIF)subfamily is one of subclades in the LRR-RLK family.Four members of the SIF subfamily(AtSIF1-AtSIF4)in Arabidopsis and cotton have been reported to be involved in abiotic and biotic stress responses.Herein,we performed genome-wide identification and phylogenetic analysis of the LRR-RLK gene family in B73 genome in maize.Chromosome positions and gene structures of LRR-RLK family members were analyzed. There are 249 LRR-RLK members in the LRR-RLK family in maize. The LRR-RLK genes are distribut-ed unevenly on 10 maize chromosomes.Phylogenetic analysis revealed 15 subfamilies in LRR-RLK gene family. The number of genes in each subfamily ranges from 1 to 51.Besides,we analyzed expression patterns of the SIF sub-family genes in different tissues and under different stresses.Several genes of the SIF subfamily responding to both abiotic stresses(drought stress, cold stress, heat stress or salt stress)and biotic stresses(Cochliobolus heterostrophus,Fusarium graminearum,Ustilago maydis or Rhopalosiphum maidis infections)were identified.
