Analysis of Agronomic Traits and Grain Quality of Ae1-5180 High Amylose Maize Near-isogenic Lines
The breeding of high amylose maize lines has broad application prospects and commercial value.Currently, there is a scarcity of high amylose maize germplasm in China. The dominant Ae1-5180 mutant gene is an allelic mutation of amylose expander ae,however, research on its breeding application is rarely reported. In this study,10 pairs of high-quality maize inbred lines and their Ae1-5180 near-isogenic lines were used as experimen-tal materials to analyze the agronomic traits and grain quality of plants. The results showed that, compared with the control, the amylose content of all Ae1-5180 near-isogenic lines significantly increased, while the total starch and 100-grain weight decreased. The near-isogenic lines CA240/Ae1 and CANS-1/Ae1 exhibited high amylose content, high 100-grain weight and small changes in agronomic traits
