Comparison of Methods for Estimating Chlorophyll Content in Maize Leaves by Red Edge Position
In this study, based on the two-year field test data, the stability of red edge position algorithm in esti-mating chlorophyll was systematically analyzed and evaluated. The results showed that the maximum first derivative(FD)and Lagrangian interpolation(LAGR)could not accurately estimate the chlorophyll content of maize leaves due to the bimodal phenomenon.Inverse Gaussian(IG),linear interpolation(LI)and linear extrapolation(LE)have higher estimation accuracy but poor universality and stability. The red edge position model extracted based on the wavelet transform method(WT)has excellent performance in predicting the chlorophyll accumulation of maize leaves. It is the most sensitive to the change of leaf chlorophyll content, has the highest prediction accuracy, and has higher sta-bility and universality. It provides a theoretical and technical basis for accurate monitoring of nutrients in a large ar-ea of maize in the future.
