Analysis of Quality Characteristics of Approved Corn Varieties in Shanxi Province from 2013 to 2022
In this study,683 ordinary maize varieties that were audited by Shanxi province from 2013 to 2022 were collected, and classified into spring sowing extra early maturing zone Ⅰ,spring sowing extra early maturing zoneⅡ,spring sowing early maturing zone, spring sowing middle late maturing zone, maturing zone of spring sowing.Four indices were measured to analyze the changing trend of corn quality of registered varieties.Bulk density content in the mid-late zone was the highest, while the content in the extra early maturing zone Ⅰ was the lowest, there was a significant difference between the two(P<0.05).The annual variation pattern of crude starch content was generally on the rise. With remarkable variations in all quality indices across different zones, showing the extra early maturing zone Ⅰ was the highest, followed by the early maturing zone. The results indicate that ordinary maize audited quality has achieved progresses in Shanxi in the recent 10 years, but the overall quality indices of varieties need further im-provement,especially for the fat content. In the future 5-10 years, the proportion of mid-late maturing corn varieties will continue to increase in Shanxi's corn breeding and certification.
