Effects of Exogenous Abscisic Acid and Its Inhibitor Spraying on Grain Filling and Endogenous Hormone Content of Summer Maize
The fast grain dehydration rate maize variety Dika517(DK517)and the slow grain dehydration rate maize variety Zhengdan1002(ZD1002)were used as test materials to study the changes in grain filling, water con-tent,and endogenous hormone content during the formation of maize seeds. The results showed that under exoge-nous ABA treatment, the active filling period of DK517 was prolonged by 3.42 days compared to ZD 1002,and the growth amount(Wmax)at the maximum filling rate was lower than that of ZD 1002.58d after pollination, the grain mois-ture content of DK517 and ZD1002 increased by 5.83%and 3.01%respectively after ABA spraying compared to the control;and after ABA inhibitor treatment, the overall grain moisture content decreased compared to the control.Under ABA treatment, the moisture content of DK517 grains was lower than that of ZD 1002,but the dehydration rate of DK517 was higher than that of ZD 1002.The grain filling rate and dehydration rate of maize varieties with dif-ferent dehydration types are related to the endogenous hormone content. It can be seen that ABA regulates the grain filling process, and the changes of endogenous hormone content and their interaction after exogenous spraying ABA play an important role in the grain filling process.
