Control Effect of Different Fungicides on Maize Stalk Rot
The aims of this study was to screen of effective fungicides for control of maize stalk rot.The indoor toxicity of 16 fungicides against Fusarium graminearum were determined by mycelial growth method, and the con-trol effect of screened fungicides coated seeds on maize stalk rot was evaluated through field efficacy tests. The study showed that 9 fungicides with EC50 less than 5.0 mg/L were selected from 16 fungicides. All 9 fungicides were safe and harmless to seeds after coating. The coating of ipconazole,thiafuramide,bromothalonil,fludioxonil,pro-chloraz,phenamacril and carbendazim had growth promotion effect on maize.Ipconazole and bromothalonil had bet-ter control effects on maize stalk rot caused by F.graminearum and their control effects were 81.69%and 80.55%,respectively.The prevention effects of thiafuramide had better control effects on stalk rot caused by F.graminearum and Pythium sp.,the control effect was 80.09%.The thickness of the stem increased, the length of the second sec-tion decreased, and the ratio of length and thickness of the stalk significantly decreased by fungicides coating seeds when maize stalk infected by pathogen. With all that said, ipconazol, bromoxonitrile and thiafuramide have good con-trol effect on maize stalk rot.
