Suitability Evaluation and Ecological Protection Research of Exploitation and Utilization of Uninhabited Islands-A Case Study of Pingzhou
Uninhabited islands are favored by marine tourism for their original natural scenery. The development and utilization activities of uninhabited islands are continuing to advance.Evaluating the feasibility of development and utilization of uninhabited islands and maintaining the stability of the ecosystem are important for the development and utilization of uninhabited islands. This article aimed to establish an evaluation factor index system for the suitability of uninhabited islands through the characteristics of uninhabited islands. It used the suitability of uninhabited islands for tourism development as an evaluation model and used ArcGIS spatial analysis, overlay analysis and other functions to evaluate the suitability of uninhabited islands.A comprehensive evaluation of development suitability was conducted, and ecological protection strategies were proposed. The research results showed that Pingzhou Island is an uninhabited island that is moderately suitable for development. However, during the development process, the development intensity should be limited. The protection of the ecosystem should be paid an attention. This study could provide guidance for the development and utilization as well as development and ecological protection of Pingzhou Island and similar small uninhabited islands.
