Study on Biomass and Productivity of 11-year-old Michelia hedyosperma Plantation
The biomass and productivity of 11-year-old Michelia hedyosperma plantation, which planted in Jiepai branch of Guangxi Gaofeng forestry farm, were studied by sample tree harvesting method in Dec.of 2012.The result showed that biomass of Michelia hedyosperma plantation was increased with the increasing of DBH,the difference of individual biomass in different diameter classes was significant, the biomass allocation in different organs showed consistent rule, and the order was:trunk > root stump > branch > bark > leaf > big root > middle root > small root, the ratio of above ground biomass and underground biomass was 3.5 ∶ 1.The total biomass of Michelia hedyosperma plantation was 85.58 t · hm-2,among them the biomass of arbor layer was 82.05 t · hm-2,while the understory layer was 3.53 t · hm-2,which accounted for 95.88 % and 4.12 % of the total biomass. The distribution law of biomass in each layer was arbor layer > litter layer > herb layer > shrub layer. In all the fitted regression equations, individual biomass regression model [W =0.088 8 (D2H) 0.949] had a highest correlation coefficient R2 =0.978 2.The average net productivity of Michelia hedyosperma plantation was 1l.21 t · hm-2 · a-1,the productivity of arbor layer and understory layer were 9.45 t · hm-2 · a-1 and 1.76 t · hm-2 · a-1 respectivily, which amounted for 84.26 % and 15.74 % respectivily of the total. The productivity distribution law of each layer in the order of arbor layer (9.45 t · hm-2 · a-1) > little layer (1.17 t · hm-2 · a-1) > herb layer (0.48t · hm-2 · a-1) >shrub layer (0.12 t · hm-2 · a-1).
