The U12 (6 × 3 × 2) mixed-level uniform experimental design was applied to study the effects of three factors fertilizer, irrigation and IBA on the growth of 210 days old Pinus yunnanensis seedlings under the split trail design of greenhouse and pine-needle cover in nursery. The results showed that the mean basal diameter and height of the seedlings in greenhouse were 1.36 mm and 6.99 cm respectively, which were significantly higher than 1.17 mm and 5.95 cm of pine-needle cover treatment.Fertilization was the main factor for basal diameter and height growth under different facilities. The optimal treatment combination for seedling growing in greenhouse was A1 B1C1 (organic fertilizer 4.0 kg · m-2 mixing in the media, irrigation every two days without IBA spraying on the leaves),and that for pine needle cover method was A2B1C2 (organic fertilizer 5.0 kg · m-2 mixing in the media, irrigation every two days with 0.2 g · L-1 IBA spraying on the leaves). The average height of seedlings treated by these two approaches reached 9.34 cm and 7.50 cm respectively. The ANOVA results indicated that there were significantly different effects of the fertilization (p =0.039 < 0.05) and irrigation (p =0.005 < 0.01) on height of seedling growing in greenhouse, and basal diameters with pine-needle cover were significantly influenced by IBA spraying on the leaves (p =0.008 <0.01).
