The Resources and Distribution of Nyssa yunnanensis
Nyssa yunnanensis is one of the national I-class protected plants with scattered distribution , small pop-ulation and in an very endangered status.Based on several field surveys, historical documents and specimen re-corded since 1995, the current population and distribution of Nyssa yunnanensis are analyzed.Before the 1990s, the most collection sites were found in Xishuangbanna , totally 8 Nyssa yunnanensis individuals since the 1990 s, the new distribution sites were found in DeHong prefecture , Mangyun of Yingjiang county , the Nanwan River of Ruili city and the Long River of Longchuan county, and 6 Nyssa yunnanensis individuals.Among which, only the Nanwan River site are located in protected areas.The population of Nyssa yunnanensis is rare, and mainly distrib-uted around forest margins, side of ditch and farmland, and some places highly influenced by human disturbance . The regeneration of its seedlings are rare, and its population structure are discontinuous with high risk of extinction in wild nature.In this sense , Nyssa yunnanensis conservation in Yunnan province is becoming more and more im-portant.
