Analysis of Anthocyanins and Flavonols in six Different Colors of Petals of Paeonia delavayi by High Performance Liquid Chromatography
Paeonia delavayi is one of the wild species of tree peony, which has rich colors including white,yellow,yellow-green,orange,red (dark-red,purple-red),purple and purple-black.In our study, the anthocyanin and flavonol from 6 kinds of Petals of Paeonia delavayi were analyzed by using high-performance liquid chromatography (HPLC) and high-performance liquid chromatography-diode array detection-mass spectrometry (HPLC-DAD-ESI-MS2).4 anthocyanin compounds and 7 flavonol compounds were tentatively identified. The resuits indicated that excepting the yellow petals, the other 5 kinds of petals have the same anthocyanins and the relative percentage of anthocyanins have significant difference in different colors of petals.Cyanidin-3,5-di-O-glucoside,cyanidin-3-O-glucoside,peonidin-3,5-di-O-glucoside and peonidin-3-O-glucoside were first analyzed in pink Paeonia delavayi. There were no obvious differences in the composition of flavonol among the 6 kinds of petals.
