Spatial-temporal Variations and Driving Mechanism of Vegetation Cover in Saihanba
The study of vegetation cover change and its driving mechanism in Saihanba Forest Farm can provide an important theoretical basis for regional vegetation protection and forest management.Based on the MODIS-NDVI,temperature,and precipitation data, the temporal and spatial changes of different vegetation cover in Saihanba Forest Farm from 2000 to 2020 were analyzed by using trend analysis, partial correlation analysis, residual analysis, and relative effect analysis and the driving mechanism of climate factors and human activities on different vegetation cov-er was discussed. The results showed:(1)In Saihanba Forest Farm, the area with normalized differential vegetation index(NDVI)lower than 0.55 was classified as low vegetation cover area, the area with NDVI higher than 0.65 was classified as high vegetation cover area, and the area with NDVI between 0.55 and 0.65 was classified as medi-um vegetation cover area.(2)From 2000 to 2020,the average growth rate of NDVI varies among different vegeta-tion cover levels. The average growth rate of NDVI is faster in low vegetation cover area, followed by medium vegeta-tion cover area and high vegetation cover area.Especially after 2007,the average growth rate of NDVI in Saihanba Forest Farm was significantly higher than the average growth rate of NDVI from 2000 to 2007.(3)The main driving factors of NDVI are also different in different vegetation cover levels.NDVI in low vegetation cover areas is mainly affected by human activities, and its contribution rate is as high as 60.78%.The main driving factors in the middle and high vegetation cover area are spatially heterogeneous, that is,the low altitude area in the west and southeast of the middle and high vegetation cover area is mainly affected by human activities, while the high altitude area in the northeast is mainly affected by climate factors.
