Analysis on Landscape Patterns of Regional Ecological Land in Nanjing Metropolitan Area on Multiple Spatial Scales
With the continuous advancement of urbanization, metropolitan areas have become one of the main forms of urban development patterns in China.Regional ecological land(REL)plays a significant role in maintaining the ecosystems system security of metropolitan areas.Multi-scale analysis helps grasp the evolution characteristics and pattern of REL under rapid urbanization. This study takes the Nanjing Metropolitan Area as an example, and based on Landsat images from 2000 to 2020,it uses method like dynamic change, land use transfer matrix and landscape pattern index,to analyze REL on metropolitan area, city, and district/county scale. The results shown that:(1)Over the past 20 years, the metropolitan area scale of REL has shown a trend from"sharp decline"to"gradual increase",with obvious bidirectional characteristics in its inflow and outflow.Additionally, the landscape pattern of water and grassland trends to fragmentation, while the dominance of forest has increased.(2)At the city scale, the temporal changes of REL area basically consistent with the metropolitan area, but there are differences in the changes in the landscape pattern,in which the landscape pattern of the REL in Xuancheng region is gradually optimized, while fragmentation increases in Huai'an,Ma'anshan, and Wuhu.(3)At the district/county scale, more than half dis-tricts/counties have experienced a decrease in REL area and a rise in landscape fragmentation, particularly pro-nounced in Xuyi County,Langxi County and Guangde City. These findings demonstrate that multi-scale analysis not only provides insight into the characteristics of changes of o REL in the metropolitan area, but also facilitates the for-mulation of ecological strategies that consider differences at various spatial scales.
