With the extensive application of cutting-edge technologies such as artificial intelligence,big data,virtual reality,and blockchain in the field of education,the teaching ecosystem,its ele-ments,and the forms of interaction with the educational environment have undergone fundamental transformations.This shift has fostered new teaching models and advanced the educational paradigm into the"digital intelligence era."In response to these changes,university-based international Chi-nese language teachers urgently need to enhance their digital competencies to meet the new require-ments of the digital era concerning information environments,knowledge production,and decision support.This study has conducted behavioral event interviews with 32 university-based international Chinese language teachers who have at least 15 years of teaching experience and 40 hours of digital teaching experience.Through the data analysis,a preliminary digital teaching competency model for university-based international Chinese language teachers has been constructed.Then,based on a questionnaire survey of 585 university-based international Chinese language teachers,the subsequent factor analysis,the fit analysis and the weight analysis have tested and improved the model.The final model encompasses five core categories:personal traits,teaching practice,instructional guidance,ed-ucational philosophy,and teaching skills,incorporating 24 characteristic items aimed at systematically assessing and enhancing the digital teaching competency of university-based international Chinese language teachers.
