A Study of the Modernization of China's Frontier Eco-governance:Connotations,Challenges and Approaches
The modernization of China's frontier eco-governance is an important part of the national eco-governance system,and it is also an inevitable requirement for the border areas to explore and practice Chinese-style modernization and construct an eco-community with a shared future for man-kind.Focusing on the realistic ecological problems in the border areas,and closely centering on the mission of building a harmonious coexistence between man and nature,we can construct modern sys-tems and use modern means to overcome the weaknesses of the traditional governance models and im-prove the efficiency of eco-governance.The complexity of modernizing the eco-governance in the bor-der areas lies in the need to handle multiple relationships such as security and stability,the borderland and its surrounding areas as well as development and protection.In recent years,although important achievements have been made in eco-governance in the border areas,there are still a series of practical challenges in the modern transformation of governance ideas,contents and strategies.In response to the weaknesses in the current governance,the modernization of eco-governance in the border areas needs to be further promoted in terms of systematic optimization,conceptual transformation,mecha-nism construction,and content enhancement,continuously improving the capacity and level of the frontier eco-governance,exploring the workable governance methods with some frontier characteris-tics,and contributing the frontier-specific experience to the modernization of China's eco-governance system and governance capacity.
