Europe's complex ethnic composition has historically led to various intensities of language conflicts, significantly engaging a large number of regional management resources.Consequently,Eu-ropean regional international organizations such as the European Union(EU),the Council of Europe(CoE),the Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe(OSCE),the Organisation for Eco-nomic Co-operation and Development(OECD),and t he North Atlantic Treaty Organization(NATO)have prioritized language policies as critical components of their policymaking to ensure re-gional security, stability, and prosperity. This paper examines these organizations'approaches to le-veraging language policies to safeguard their national security. It concludes that they collectively ad-here to the principles of promoting multilingualism, protecting linguistic rights, and relying on domi-nant languages, committed to preserving linguistic diversity and fostering social integration.Howev-er,these efforts often face challenges such as conflicts between the principle of diversity and pragma-tism,and difficulties in distributing security interests.Establishing flexible and dynamic mechanisms to ensure the continuous balance between the needs for linguistic diversity and political integration in Europe and achieving long-term regional security remains a pivotal issue in European governance.
