Against the backdrop of intensifying great power competition, the Global South is active on the world stage as a relatively independent political force, playing an important role in global governance and regional conflicts.Since the outbreak of the Ukrainian crisis,India has integrated the Global South into its diplomatic strategy,to boost its diplomatic agenda and enhance its international prestige. At the policy level,India has strengthened its ties with the Global South through a number of strategic initiatives, including struggling to be a leader of the Global South,a bridge between the West and the Global South, and the expansion of"micro-multilateralism".India sees the Global South as an important means of maintaining strategic autonomy and hedging against China.Meanwhile,it should be noted that India's Global South diplomatic strategy still faces a number of challenges:the uncertainty of India's national identity, the legitimacy of being the leader of the Global South, its deep-rooted conflicts with the West,as well as the fierce external competition of being the leader of the Global South. As an ex-officio member of the Global South,China should pay more attention to prioritizing the countries of the Global South in the practice of promoting the high-quality development of the Belt and Road, and continuously explore the potential for and the momentum of cooperation. It should seek common development, and promote the rapid rise of the Global South in the international arena in the course of building the Belt and Road in a high-quality manner.
