Social Risks and Governance of Generative Artificial Intelligence as a Narrative Subject
The narrative subject constructed by generative artificial intelligence(GAI)through language output has the possibility of constantly surpassing real-world subjects, which challenges the real society as the basis of true existence. Therefore,it is necessary to analyze the root causes of these risks.Building upon the traditional perspectives of independent existence and parallel existence, the author points out that AI as a narrative subject is possible, exhibiting characteristics of generativity, interactivity, and existentiality. The diverse existential features of GAI as a narrative subject also bring about various social risks. At the individual level, there are risks of cognitive and emotional ability reduction,self-identity difficulty and self-existence meaning resolution. At the organizational level, there are risks including impacts on interpersonal relationships, influencing public decision-making within organizations, and accelerating the arrival of a post-truth era.At the societal level, there are major risks such as the disappearance of a large number of jobs, the change of labor patterns and the increased social security risks.Faced with the risks posed by GAI as narrative subjects, countermeasures can be implemented through the establishment of a pool of language for real-world subjects, delineating the boundaries of narrative subject language data, and fostering self-reflective practices.
