Joint Prevention Mechanism of Malaria and A Community of Common Health in Southwest China:A Case Study of Malaria Control in Yunnan since 1950
China's malaria prevention and control policies, institutional construction, practical measures, and their significant achievements are closely related to the joint prevention mechanism and the rigorous frontier malaria control system in Yunnan Province.Preliminary malaria prevention and control policies were established between 1950 and 1977.Significant progress was made in institutional construction of malaria prevention and control from 1978 to 2000.Since the 21st century, the domestic special malaria prevention and control research project and its institutional promotion have achieved remarkable results. In the shaping of the disease prevention and control system, the internal and external capacity of malaria prevention and control in Yunnan Province has been enhanced. The establishment of malaria prevention and control research institutions is the basis of the disease prevention and control system. The intrinsic effect of the enhanced internal control ability in the disease prevention and control system is highlighted. The international practice of malaria control and the pattern of prevention and control from within China to overseas shows the extrinsic effect of strictly preventing the source of malaria. However, under the background of new international situations and environmental crisis, the improvement of disease control capabilities has also encountered new crises. The new prevention and control strategy optimized by the situation has become imperative to the construction of a new disease prevention and control system and the realization of the goal of a global human health community.
