Investigation of the"Fluid and Cohesive"Survival Strategies of Folk Chu Opera Troupes
As one of the local operas in Wuhan,Chu Opera is more special than other operas in Wuhan in terms of survival strate-gies.In the midst of historical changes,folk Chu opera troupes have been transforming their survival strategies in the course of the development of the times.By placing traditional music in a contemporary context and combining the theories of social mobility,power relations and group norms in anthropological perspective,we will discuss the differences and inevitability of the"fluid and cohesive"characteristics of historical and contemporary folk Chu opera troupes.Through dialogues with history and participatory observation in the field,we will experience and reflect on some certain deep rules in the"fluid and cohesive"characteristics of contemporary folk Chu opera troupes.
