Study on 90%effective dose of remimazolam for sedation induction in sub-plateau population
Objective To investigate the 90%effective dose(ED90)of remimazolam for sedation induction in sub-plateau population. Methods 53 patients(30 males and 23 females, mean age 43.8±12.7 years)who received regional nerve block or intra-spinal anesthesia elective surgery were selected fromlong-term residents in Qujing area.Remimazolam intravenous injection was used to induce sedation. The initial dose of remimazolam was 0.075 mg/kg.The next patient was progressively dosed by biased coin design(BCD)method with dose gradient of 0.025 mg/kg and maximum dose of 0.225 mg/kg.Probabilistic regression was used to calculate remimazolam sedation-induced ED90.Results Remimazolam was effective in sub-plateau population with ED90 of 0.178(95%CI,1.64-0.207 mg/kg).Adverse reactions included hypoxemia in six cases(11.3%),cough in six cases(11.3%)and hypotension in four cases(7.5%).No serious adverse events occurred. Conclusions Remimazolam is safe and effective for sedation induction in sub-plateau population with ED90 of 0.178 mg/kg.
