Study on 25-hydroxyvitamin D and lower extremity infection lesions in middle-aged and elderly male patients with diabetes
Objective To discuss the relationship between serum 25-(OH)D and lower extremity infectious lesions in middle-aged and elderly male patients with T2DM.Methods A total of 281 T2DM male patients were enrolled, including 184 patients without lower extremity infection in group B and 97 patients with lower extremity infection in group C.Non-diabetic group A included 139 people. Results 25-(OH)D in group C was significantly lower than that in groups B and A,and group B was lower than that in group A,there was statistical significance in the difference(P<0.05).25-(OH)D was negatively correlated with HbA1c and positively correlated with serum calcium(Ca)in the general population and in the diabetic patients. In the general population 25-(OH)D was negatively correlated with UACR in the diabetic patients. In the total population, there was the negative correlation between 25-(OH)D andWBC,neutrophil granulocyte, neutrophil to WBC,NEUandNLR,and positively correlated with HDL(P<0.05).In the T2DM patients,25-(OH)D was negatively correlated with the duration of diabetes,HbA1c,UACR,CRP,VPT,and positively correlated with BMI,serum Ca,LYM,and ultrasound intima thickness of deep femoral artery. Conclusions VitD is obviously deficient in the middle-aged and elderly T2DM males combined with lower limb infection.Physicians should pay attention to the level of 25-(OH)D to better prevent the progression of diabetic lower extremity infection.
