Clinical study of thulium laser in the treatment of non-muscular invasive bladder cancer
Objective To investigate the difference between transurethral thulium laser resection for bladder tumor and TURBT in the treatment of NMIBC.Methods The clinical data of 89 patients with NMIBC who underwent transurethral thulium laser resection and TURBT for bladder tumor in our hospital from 2020 to 2022 were collected, patients were randomly divided into two groups,46 cases were in thulium laser surgery group(performing thulium laser surgery)and 43 cases were in electrotomy group(performing electrotomy). The two groups were compared in the length of hospital stay, postoperative catheter retention time, operative blood loss, intraoperative time, incidence of complications such as bladder irritation, obturator nerve reflex and so on,and recurrence rate one year after surgery. Results The complication rate of thulium laser surgery group was 6.52%lower than that of electrotomy group(27.91%),with statistical significant(P<0.05).There was no significant difference in intraoperative time between group thulium laser surgery and group electrotomy. The intraoperative blood loss, urinary catheter retention time and hospital stay in group thulium laser surgery were better than those in group electrotomy, and the differences were statistically significant. There was no significant difference in recurrence rate between group thulium laser surgery and group electrotomy. Conclusions Transurethral thulium laser complete resection of bladder tumor is superior to transurethral electrotomy of bladder tumor in the treatment of NMIBC.
