Analysis on unsuitable medical orders of traditional Chinese medicine injections in PIVAS of our hospital
Objective To explore inappropriate medical orders and its related factors by analyzing the use and characteristics of traditional Chinese medicine(TCM)injections configured in the Pharmacy Intravenous Admixture Services(PIVAS)from June 2021 to June 2022 in our hospital.To promote the safe,effective and rational use of clinical TCM injections.Methods Based on the variety and use characteristics of TCM injections configured in the PIVAS of Kunming Yan'an Hospital,retrospectively reviewed,counted and analyzed the unsuitable medical orders.Results There were 632 unsuitable medical orders in PIVAS of our hospital,and 229 unsuitable medical orders for TCM injections,accounting for 36.23%of TCM injections.The cases that were not suitable for medical orders mainly centered on over/under concentration(51.36%),contraindication(38.36%),overdose(20.00%),and wrong specification of solvent(15.60%).Conclusions The unreasonable utilization rate of TCM injection in Yan'an Hospital of Kunming is 0.03%,and the unreasonable factors were representative,which could be used as a references for safe,rational and economical drug use.
