A Meta-analysis of the relationship between the severity and laboratory characteristics of COVID-19 patients
Objective To explore the relationship between disease severity and laboratory characteristics of CO VID-19 patients through systematic review. Methods References met the inclusion criteria were retrieved from PubMed,Embase,Cochrane Library,CNKI,Wanfang Data and VIP databases. The quality evaluation was completed by QUADAS-2 tool, data meta-analysis was performed by Review Manager 5.3 software. Results A total of 25 studies were included, involving 3741 research subjects(2520 mild/moderate cases and 1221 severe/critical cases).Compared with mild/moderate patients, leukocytes, neutrophils, alanine aminotransferase, aspartate aminotransfer-ase,total bilirubin,creatinine,C-reactive protein, lactate dehydrogenase,procalcitonin,D-dimer and fibrinogen were significantly increased in severe/critical patients.Lymphocytes,albumin,CD3+T,CD4+T and CD8+T were significantly decreased. There were no significant difference in the change of platelet, hemoglobin and CD4/CD8 ratio. Conclusions Laboratory characteristics of blood routine examination, markers of liver and kidney function, markers of inflammation/infection and coagulation function are closely related to the severity of CO VID-19 patients.
