Analysis on economic burden of patients with nosocomial infection of carbapenem-resistant bacteria
Objective To analyze the hospitalization days and average daily cost of patients with nosocomial infection of carbapenem-resistant bacteria, evaluate the direct economic impact of nosocomial infection of carbapenem-resistant bacteria, and to improve the prevention and control awareness of medical staff. Methods The hospitalization days and average daily cost of patients with nosocomial infection of carbapenem-resistant bacteria were analyzed to evaluate the direct economic impact on patients with nosocomial infection of carbapenem-resistant bacteria,so as to improve the prevention and control awareness of medical staff. Results There were statistical significance in hospital days, average daily cost and total costbetween the patients with carbapenem-resistant bacteria and non-carbapenem-resistant bacteria(P<0.001).There was no statistical significance in hospitalization days, average daily cost and total cost among patients infected with variety classes of carbapenem-resistant bacteria infection(P>0.005).Conclusions Prevention and control of nosocomial infection of carbapenem-resistant bacteria can reduce the economic burden of patients.
