Postoperative evaluation on inferior vena cava filter implantation by CT post-processing technology
Objective To explore the value of CT post-processing technology in evaluating the status of inferior vena cava filter after implantation and the related complications. Methods A total of 52 patients who were implanted retrievable inferior vena cava filter in Yuxi People's Hospital from January 2014 to January 2022 were collected, and all of them underwent post-processing technique such as inferior vena cava angiography(CTV)and filter CT 3D reconstruction, evaluated the position and morphology of inferior vena cava filter, and the complications. Results No fracture of main body or supporting foot or stenosis of the inferior vena cava was found in 52 cases. The position of the filter was normal in all patients and no displacement was observed. No thrombus was captured in the filter in 36 patients, and thrombus was captured in the filter in 16 patients. The degree of penetration of the filter foot through the the inferior vena cava wall was as follow:14 cases in grade 0,12 cases in grade 1,and 26 cases in grade 2.The filter was axially skewed in 8 cases. Conclusions CT post-processing technology can clearly display the shape, position and complications of inferior vena cava filters, and has certain clinical value for postoperative evaluation of inferior vena cava filter placement.
