Observation of positive rate of anti-nuclear antibody spectrum in elderly patients with systemic lupus erythematosus
Objective To investigate the positive rate of ANAs detection in elderly SLE patients and the distribution characteristics of antibodies at different ages and its clinical application. Methods ANA and anti-ds-DNA antibodies were detected by IFA in 217 elderly SLE patients and 211 non-elderly SLE patients, while ANAs were detected by western blot.ANAs positive rate of SLE patients in different age groups was statistically analyzed and the positive rate characteristics were compared. Results The positive rate of ANA was 98.58%and 99.54%in the elderly and non-elderly SLE patients, respectively. The positive rate of ANAs in SLE patients in the elderly group and non-elderly group was 98.58%and 92.17%,respectively.Among them, the positive rate of anti-ds-DNA antibody,nRNP,anti-Sm antibody,AMA,r-RNP and PCNA in the elderly group was lower than those in the non-elderly group, and the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).The positive rates of nRNP and AMA M2 was statistically significant in SLE patients of different age groups(P<0.05).Conclusions ANA test has a higher positivity rate in SLE patients in both the elderly and non-elderly group, and the positivity rate being lower in the ANAs group compared to the non-elderly group. The different changes of anti-NRNP antibody and anti-AMA M2 antibody with age may be the characteristics of SLE elderly group compared with non-elderly detected by ANAs.In conclusion,ANAs test is of great significance in the diagnosis of SLE in the elderly.
