Effect of preserving piriformis on rehabilitation after hip arthroplasty
Objective To discuss the effect of preserving piriformis muscle on rehabilitation after hip arthroplasty. Methods From January 2020 to December 2022,97 patients who underwent hemiarthroplasty due to femoral neck fracture were selected and randomly divided into two groups with preserving piriformis group(47 cases)and without preserving piriformis group(50 cases). The operation time, intraoperative blood loss, postoperative change of lower limbs length, hip Harris Score(1,3 months follow-up after operation)were compared between the two groups. Results The group with preserving piriformis was superior to the group without preserving piriformis in terms of operation time, intraoperative blood loss, change of lower limbs length,HHS(postoperative 1 month),and the differences was statistically significant. Conclusions Hip hemiarthroplasty of preserving piriformis can effectively shorten the operation time, reduce the amount of intraoperative blood loss, effectively control leg length discrepancy of both lower limbs, and facilitate the early recovery of hip joint function after surgery.
