Clinical characteristics of 774 children with Kawasaki disease at different ages
Objective To explore the incidence and clinical features of children with Kawasaki disease(KD)at different ages.Methods We retrospectively analyzed the clinical data of 774 children with KD hospitalized from January 2014 to October 2021,and analyzed the clinical characteristics and complications of children with KD in different age groups.Results 1.All KD children in all age groups had fever,the highest incidence of cicatricial erythema,diarrhea,cough,aseptic meningitis and pneumonia was found in children under one year old group.The highest incidence of rash was found in the 1-3 years old group.Hypokalemia had the high within est incidence in the 3 to 6 years old group.Highest incidence of lymph node swelling,conjunctival congestion,mucosal changes of lips and mouth,headache,hypoproteinemia,hypocalcemia was found in elder than 9 years group.2.The 774 children with KD stratified according to one year old suggested that the incidence of CAD in children with KD<1 year of age was significantly higher than in that≥1 year of age,and the difference was statistically significant(P<0.005).Conclusions Children with KD under 1 year of age and elder than 9 years old have more typical clinical manifestations and are more likely to have complications.The risk factor for CAL in KD is within one year of age.
