Analysis of MTB infection types and influencing factors in family close contacts of pulmonary tuberculosis
Objective To study the types and influencing factors of MTB infection in close family contacts of pulmonary tuberculosis patients.Methods A total of 231 close family contacts of pulmonary tuberculosis patients diagnosed in Third People's Hospital of Kunming from October 2023 to March 2024 were selected to detect MTB infection by QFT-plus.Results Among close family contacts of tuberculosis,the positive rate of MTB was 30.74％,of which 8.22％were active tuberculosis,11.26％were old tuberculosis,and 11.69％were LTBI.Univariate analysis showed that age ≤18 years old,marital relationship,cohabitation,shared bedroom,smear-positive of indicator cases,extrapulmonary tuberculosis,and cavity performance were associated with MTB infection,and the difference was statistically significant(P＜0.05).Multivariate logistic regression analysis showed that age ≤18 years old,living with indicator case,and positive smear of indicator case were risk factors for MTB infection,and the difference was statistically significant(P＜0.05).Conclusions The MTB infection rate(30.74％)was higher among close family contacts,suggesting that high attention should be paid to tuberculosis screening and treatment of close family contacts for TB,as well as screening for LTBI and preventive treatment to reduce the risk of tuberculosis.
