The small intestine is like fire,flourishing in the summer,the hand sun its meridian,the heart fu-organs,and its body is the road of water,closely related to the role of water and liquid metabolism.Benign prostatic hyperplasia(BPH)is one of the common urological diseases and the main cause of lower urinary tract symptoms(LUTS)in middle-aged and elderly men.It is of certain reference value to explore new treatment ideas to improve the quality of life of BPH/LUTS patients and reduce the possibility of surgery.The"small intestine fire"theory is closely related to LUTS/BPH to some extent.Based on the theory of"small intestine fire",the pathogenesis of"small intestine fire"was corresponding to the key pathophysiology of LUTS/BPH,and the therapeutic idea of LUTS/BPH was explored in order to improve the clinical effect.
