Analysis of the Action Mechanism of Portulacae-Quinquefolia Pairs in the Treatment of Ulcerative Colitis by Network Pharmacology
Objective:To explore the action mechanism of Portulaca-Quinquefolia pairs in the treatment of ul-cerative colitis(UC)by network pharmacology. Methods:The active ingredients of Portulaca and Quinquefolia were obtained through TCMSP database, the target of active ingredients was predicted by using Uniprot3.7.2 database, and disease genes were obtained through Gene-Cards database and OMIM database. After the intersection of herbs and disease genes, the correlation between them was studied by using STRING database. The potential mechanism of action was analyzed according to the results. Results:After screening,61 key target proteins and 169 molecular signaling pathways were obtained.Gene ontology(GO)functional enrichment analysis showed that the main biological processes were inflammation, negative regulation of apoptosis and cell reaction of lipopolysaccharide. The Kyoto Encyclopedia of Genes and Genomes(KEGG)enrichment analysis showed that Portulaca-Quinquefolia pairs played its role in the UC treatment mainly through tumor necrosis factor(TNF)signaling pathway, nuclear factor κB signaling pathway,toll-like receptor signaling pathway and NOD-like receptor signaling pathway.Conclusion:Portulaca-Quinquefolia pairs have the characteristics of multiple targets, complex pathways and distinct layers in the treatment of UC patients. The potential action mechanism of Portulaca-Quinquefolia pairs provides a theoretical basis for the future clinical treatment of UC,and expands the clinical application of TCM in the treatment of UC.
