Meta-analysis of Effectiveness and Safety of Traditional Chinese Medicine in the Treatment of Cancer-Related Fatigue after Chemotherapy
Objective:To systematically evaluate the effectiveness and safety of oral Chinese medicine on cancer-related fatigue after chemotherapy in cancer patients. Methods:Clinical studies related to oral Chinese medicine treatment of cancer patients with cancer-related fatigue after chemotherapy were comprehensively searched. The qual-ity of included literature was evaluated using(ROB2)risk assessment tool, and meta-analysis was performed using Stata15 software. Results:A total of 30 literature were included. The combined analysis showed that oral Chinese medicine combined with chemotherapy was more effective in treating cancer-related fatigue after chemotherapy[RR=1.59,95%CI=(1.40-1.80),P<0.01].Piper score was lower,[SMD=-1.98,CI=(-2.60,-1.36),P<0.01].Quality of life was higher,[SMD=2.04,95%CI=(1.09,2.98),P<0.01].Safety analysis showed that oral Chinese medicine combined with chemotherapy had a lower incidence of adverse reactions[RR=0.57,95%CI=(0.48,0.67),P<0.01)].Conclusion:The results show that oral Chinese medicine combined with chemother-apy can significantly improve various outcome indexes of cancer-related fatigue in cancer patients when compared with single therapy, indicating that oral Chinese medicine has its clinical value in treating cancer-related fatigue after chemotherapy.
