Effects of Papaverine Injection Combined with Thioctic Acid on Nerve Electrophysiological Function and Oxidative Stress in Diabetic Peripheral Neuropathy Patients
Objective To analyze the effects of papaverine injection combined with thioctic acid on nerve electrophysiological function and oxidative stress response in diabetic peripheral neuropathy(DPN)patients. Methods A total of 198 DPN patients admitted to Anyang Dengta Hospital from March 2022 to September 2023 were retrospectively selected as the study objects, and were divided into A group and B group, with 99 cases in each group. The A group was given thioctic acid, and the B group was given thioctic acid+papaverine injection.Compare the clinical efficacy of the two groups,as well as neuropathy subjective symptoms questionnaire(TSS),total symptoms score(TCSS),median nerve conduction velocity(MCV),sensory conduction velocity(SCV),malonaldehyde(MDA),total antioxidant capacity(TAOC),superoxide dismutase(SOD),glutathione peroxidase(GSH-Px)level and occurrence of adverse reactions before and after treatment were compared between the two groups. Results The clinical efficacy of the B group was 93.94%higher than that of the control group(84.85%),and the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).After treatment, the TSS and TCSS scores in the B group were lower than those in the A group, with statistically significant differences(P<0.05);the levels of MCV and SCV in the median nerve, tibial nerve, and common peroneal nerve in the B group were higher than those in the A group, with statistical significance(P<0.05);compared with the A group, the B group had lower levels of MDA,higher levels of SOD,TAOC,and GSH-Px,and the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).There was no statistically significant difference in the incidence of adverse reactions between the two groups(P>0.05).Conclusion The combination of papaverine injection and thioctic acid has a definite therapeutic effect on DPN,which can reduce oxidative stress response, increase MCV and SCV,improve clinical symptoms, and promote remission of the condition.
