Investigation and Analysis of Current Situation of Production Equipment and Use of Children's Drugs in Ningxia Region
Objective To sort out the relevant situation of production,clinical use and equipment of children's drugs(including hospital preparations for children's clinical use)in Ningxia region,analyze the existing problems in children's drugs,and provide reasonable suggestions for the reform and improvement of children's drug supply guarantee mechanism.Methods Questionnaire survey,interview and data extraction were conducted among relevant departments,20 medical institutions and 3 drug manufacturers in Ningxia region.Results Three enterprises in Ningxia region produced 58 varieties and 64 specifications of children's drugs,mainly in oral solid dosage form(57 kinds).The 20 medical institutions were equipped with 166 to 319 kinds of drugs,general hospitals with 171.5 kinds of drugs,and maternal and child health institutions with 62.5 kinds of drugs.There were 97 drugs that needed to add information on children's drug use in the drug instructions,23 drugs that needed to improve the dosage form,and 45 drugs that needed to change the specification.Conclusion Medical institutions need to revise the drug instructions for children,and need to increase the specifications and dosage forms of children's drugs.We should start from the aspects of policy formulation,clinical evaluation of medical institutions and public publicity to provide support for the comprehensive protection of the safe and standardized use of children's drugs.
