Effects of Tianzhi Granules Combined with Donepezil on Cognitive Function and Serum Neurotransmitter Levels in Patients with Post-stroke Cognitive Impairment
Objective To study the effects of tianzhi granules combined with donepezil on cognitive function and serum neurotransmitter levels in patients with post-stroke cognitive impairment(PSCI).Methods A total of 90 patients with PSCI admitted to Nanyang Nanshi Hospital from January 2021 to June 2023 were retrospectively selected as the study objects,and were divided into control group and combined group according to the treatment plan,with 45 cases in each group.The control group was treated with donepezil,and the combined group was treated with tianzhi granules combined with donepezil.Compare the clinical efficacy of the two groups,as well as Barthel index(BI),National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale(NIHSS),Montreal Cognitive Assessment Scale(MoCA)score,cerebral artery[Arteriae cerebri anterior(ACA),middle cerebral artery(MCA),posterior cerebral artery(PCA)]blood flow velocity,serum neurotransmitters[Neuron-specific enolase(NSE),norepinephrine(NE),brain-derived neurotrophic factor(BDNF),neuronal PAS domain protein 4(NPAS4)]levels,incidence of adverse reactions before and after treatment.Results The total effective rate of combined group(95.56%)was higher than that of control group(82.22%)(P<0.05).After 3 months of treatment,NIHSS scores in combined group were lower than those in control group,BI and MoCA scores were higher than those in control group(P<0.05);the blood flow velocity of ACA,MCA and PCA in combined group were higher than those in control group(P<0.05);the serum levels of NSE and NPAS4 in combined group were lower than those in control group,and the levels of NE and BDNF were higher than those in control group(P<0.05).There was no significant difference in the total incidence of adverse reactions between two groups(P>0.05).Conclusion The combination of tianzhi granules and donepezil in the treatment of PSCI patients can promote the improvement of nerve function,cognitive function and daily living ability,improve cerebral artery blood flow,enhance the efficacy and safety.
