Effect Analysis of Clinical Pharmacists Participating in Nutritional Support for Patients with Radical Radiotherapy and Chemotherapy for Cervical Cancer
Objective Observing the effect of clinical pharmacists on improving the nutritional status and chemotherapy tolerance of cervical cancer patients undergoing concurrent radiotherapy and chemotherapy. Methods 116 patients with initial diagnosis of cervical cancer and receiving curative radiotherapy and chemotherapy were selected from Ganzhou Cancer Hospital from January 2021 to September 2023.The control group of patients had no involvement of clinical pharmacists in nutritional monitoring, while the observation group of patients had full nutritional monitoring by clinical pharmacists. The changes in nutritional indicators and radiotherapy and chemotherapy tolerance of the two groups of patients were compared. Results The incidence of severe malnutrition in the control group was higher than that in the observation group, with a statistical difference(P=0.006);9 patients in the observation group experienced radiotherapy interruption, and 49 patients(84.48%)completed radiotherapy;22 patients in the control group experienced radiotherapy interruption, and 36 cases(62.07%)were completed. The difference between the two groups was statistically significant(t=7.44,P=0.006),indicating that the observation group had better tolerance to radiotherapy and chemotherapy. Conclusion During synchronous radiotherapy and chemotherapy for cervical cancer, clinical pharmacists providing full nutritional monitoring can improve the patient's nutritional status and enhance their tolerance to radiotherapy and chemotherapy.
