Evaluation of the Application Effect of Estrogen in the Treatment of Atrophic Vaginitis in Postmenopausal Women
Objective To explore the application effect of estrogen in the treatment of atrophic vaginitis in postmenopausal women.Methods A study was conducted on 70 postmenopausal women with atrophic vaginitis admitted to General Hospital of Pingxiang Mining Group Co.,Ltd from March 2022 to May 2023.The grouping method was chosen as the random number table method,with 35 cases in each groups.The control group was treated with compound metronidazole suppositories combined with sophora flavescens gel,and the observation group was treated with estrogen on the basis of the control group.Compare the treatment efficacy,medication safety,and changes in vaginal symptom scores,vaginal pH,vaginal cell maturation index(MV),endometrial thickness,and serum estrogen levels between two groups after the end of treatment.Results After the end of the treatment,the total effective rate of the observation group was 94.29%,which was higher than the control group's 77.14%,with a significant difference in statistical results(P<0.05);the vaginal symptom score and vaginal pH value in the observation group were lower than those in the control group,and the MV was higher than that in the control group,with significant differences(P<0.05);the level of estradiol(E2)in the observation group was higher than that in the control group,while the level of follicle stimulating hormone(FSH)was lower than that in the control group,with significant differences(P<0.05).There were no significant changes in blood and urine routine,blood biochemical indicators,liver function indicators,blood pressure,resting heart rate,and body weight,and no significant adverse reactions were observed.Conclusion Estrogen combined with compound metronidazole suppositories and sophora flavescens gel can improve the therapeutic effect of atrophic vaginitis in postmenopausal women,improve the vaginal environment of patients,improve the estrogen level,and have good safety.
