Observation the Therapeutic Effect of Cetirizine Combined with Nasal Negative Pressure Replacement in the Treatment of Upper Airway Cough Syndrome in Children
Objective Exploring the value of cetirizine combined with nasal negative pressure replacement therapy for upper airway cough syndrome(UACS)in children. Methods 94 patients with UACS admitted to Xinfeng County Maternal and Child Health Hospital from December 2021 to August 2022 were selected and randomly divided into an experimental group(47 cases)and a control group(47 cases)using the envelope method. The control group received cetirizine treatment, while the experimental group received cetirizine combined with nasal negative pressure replacement treatment. The efficacy, symptom scores, inflammatory reactions, and adverse reactions of the two groups were compared. Results The total effective rate of the experimental group was 95.74%higher than that of the control group, which was 82.98%(P<0.05).After 2 weeks of treatment, the scores of symptoms such as cough, pharyngeal mucus attachment, and runny nose decreased in both groups, and the experimental group was lower than that in the control group(P<0.05).After 2 weeks of treatment, both groups showed decrease in inflammatory response indicators, and the experimental group interleukin-1,interferon-γ(IFN-γ)and the IL-8 index were lower than the control group(P<0.05).There was no difference in the total incidence of adverse reactions such as dizziness, fatigue, nosebleed, and diarrhea between the two groups(P>0.05).Conclusion In the treatment of UACS in children, the combination of nasal negative pressure replacement and cetirizine has a significant therapeutic effect, which helps to improve the symptoms of cough and pharyngeal mucus adhesion, reduce the level of inflammatory reactions, and have fewer adverse reactions.
