Effect of Vitamin A Palmitate Eye Gel Combined with Recombinant Human Epidermal Growth Factor in the Treatment of Xerophthalmia after Phacoemulsification
Objective To analyze the effect of vitamin A palmitate eye gel combined with recombinant human epidermal growth factor(rhEGF)onxerophthalmia after phacoemulsification.Methods From December 2022 to December 2023,120 patients with xerophthalmia after phacoemulsification in Shangqiu First People's Hospital were selected and divided into two groups according to random number table method.60 patients in the conventional group were treated with vitamin A palmitate eye gel,while 60 patients in the experimental group were treated with vitamin A palmitate eye gel combined with rhEGF eye drops,both groups were treated for 4 weeks.The clinical efficacy,symptoms of dry eye,levels of inflammatory factors,quality of life related to visual function and occurrence of adverse reactions were observed in the two groups.Results After continuous treatment for 4 weeks,the total effective rate of the experimental group was higher than that of the conventional group(P<0.05).After treatment,the BUT and SIt levels were higher than before treatment,and the experimental group was higher than the conventional group(P<0.05);the levels of IL-1β and IL-8 in tears of both groups were lower than before treatment,and those in experimental group were lower than those in conventional group(P<0.05);the NEIVFQ-25 score after treatment was higher than that before treatment,and the score of experimental group was higher than that of conventional group(P<0.05).There was no significant difference in the total incidence of adverse reactions between the two groups(P>0.05).Conclusion Vitamin A palmitate eye gel combined with rhEGF is effective in the treatment of xerophthalmia after phacoemulsification,which can help improve the symptoms of dry eye,inhibit the inflammatory response,promote the improvement of the quality of life related to visual function,and avoid increasing adverse reactions.
