Research Progress on the Mechanism of Dexmedetomidine in POCD
Postoperative cognitive dysfunction(POCD)is one of the common complications in postoperative patients, and its pathogenic mechanism is complex, caused by multiple factors working together.Dexmedetomidine is a highly selective α2 adrenergic receptor agonist that has been widely used in the prevention and treatment of POCD in recent years. This article reviews domestic and foreign research literature to review the progress in the mechanism of action of dexmedetomidine in patients with POCD.By discussing the current research status of POCD,it is known that the pathogenesis of POCD is relatively complex, and its risk factors involve multiple aspects such as patient age, anesthesia time, and underlying diseases;by exploring the mechanism of action of dexmedetomidine on POCD,it is known that dexmedetomidine has strong anti stress,anti-inflammatory,and antioxidant effects in POCD patients, and can reduce the dosage of analgesic drugs. The above content is expected to lay a foundation for the clinical prevention and treatment of postoperative POCD and the development of dexmedetomidine anesthesia plans.
