This paper extracts the high-frequency translations of"Junzi"and analyses its specific meanings in the corresponding English-speaking countries by using the corpus of English translations of Cai Gen Tan and British National Corpus with the help of the corpus analysis path called the extended unit of meaning.It is found that the meaning of gentleman,the most frequent typical translation pattern,is not equivalent to that of"junzi",and the meanings of noble and superior in the other typical pattern,though similar,also differ when translated as"junzi".There are differences in the translation of"junzi",reflecting only a certain aspect of"junzi".Due to the cultural differences between Chinese and English,the cultural meaning of"junzi"in the text only partially overlaps with the meaning of the above-mentioned English words,and it is difficult to translate the word"junzi"with rich cultural connotation,into the target language culture in its original form.The corpus-based research method is an effective way to examine the results of the globalization of Chinese culture and provide suggestions for Chinese culture translation and dissemination.
