Research on Rebranding of Atypical Historic District Under the Street Culture:Take Nanjing Xiaoxihu as an Example
Urban atypical historic districts are products of a specific period in the process of urbanization,and they are of great significance for continuing the urban historical context and preserving the urban historical memory.Different from typical historic and cultural blocks,atypical historic districts have vague historical and aesthetic value orienta-tions,or face issues such as scattered historical relics and difficulties in delineating conservation areas.However,they are equally witnesses to urban history and carriers of local culture.Based on the foundation of street culture,this pa-per explores the effects of three rebranding strategies-diffusive reshaping through symbol transformation,ascending re-shaping through digital expansion,and kinetic reshaping through cultural consumption-on atypical historic district in Nanjing,taking the Xiaoxihu historic district as a case study.The aim is to provide a reference for the organic renewal of the image of old cities.
