Spatio-Temporal Exploration of Regional Innovation Capacity Based on the TOE Framework:A Dynamic QCA Study Based on Provincial Panel Data
Based on the TOE framework, this study selects six condition variables:technological innovation capability, technology management capability, innovation support, policy support, innovation supply, and innovation demand.Taking China's provincial regions as the research subject and using R language for QCA analysis, this study explores the temporal evolution and spatial distribution of regional innovation capability from a configurational perspective. The findings include:(1)High innovation supply is a necessary condition for high regional innovation capability, while low technological innovation capability is a necessary condition for low regional innovation capability;(2)There are two pathways to high regional innovation capability:T-driven-OE complementary innovation and E-driven-TO complementary innovation;(3)These two pathways show consistency in temporal evolution but differ in spatial explanatory power, with T-driven-OE complemen-tary innovation tending to explain the eastern regions, and E-driven-TO complementary innovation tending to explain the central and western regions.
