Experimental Study on High-Efficiency Flotation Separation of Copper and Sulfur From a Low-grade Refractory Copper Ore
There are a large number of refractory low-grade copper deposits in western Yunnan,which contain 0.35%copper and 6.31%sulfur.In order to achieve high-efficiency enrichment and separation of copper and sulfur in ores and obtain copper concentrate and sulfur concentrate products,according to the mineral composition of the ore and the chemical phase distribution of copper,the experimental study on the efficient flotation separation of copper and sulfur from the low-grade refractory copper ore was carried out,and the process of copper-sulfur bulk flotation-regrinding of bulk rough concentrate-depressing sulfur and floating copper was determined.The effects of grinding fineness,flotation reagents,regrinding fineness of bulk rough concentrate and pH value on the flotation and separation of copper-sulfur were systematically studied.In the experiment,ethyl xanthoxanthate and butyl xanthoxanthate were used as the combined collector of copper-sulfur bulk flotation,and pine camphor oil was used as the frother.The obtained copper-sulfur bulk coarse concentrate was reground with lime to inhibit sulfur minerals and Z-200 was used to collect copper minerals.Under the condition of grinding fineness of-0.074 mm accounting for 85%,the dosage of ethyl xanthoxanthate and butyl xanthoxanthate of 150+150 g/t,the dosage of Z-200 20 g/t and pH 12,the copper sulfur rough concentrate is ground to-0.038 mm accounting for 85%after one roughing,two scavengings and one cleaning.Copper concentrate with Cu grade of 19.51%and Cu recovery of 91.98%and sulfur concentrate with S grade of 40.77%and S recovery of 84.51%were obtained by the locked-cycle flotation process of one roughing,two scavengings and two cleanings,and copper-sulfur enrichment and separation test indexes were good.The research results provide a good reference for the high-efficiency flotation enrichment and separation of copper-sulfur in similar low-grade refractory copper ores,and have important significance for improving the comprehensive utilization rate of copper-sulfur resources and reducing production costs.
