Historical Changes and Its Characteristics in Cultural Integration in Chinese Mainland and Taiwan
Judging from the formation and development of history and culture in Chinese mainland and Taiwan, the social culture of Taiwan Province has been deeply influenced by the social culture of mainland China, especially the coastal society of Fujian, and to a large extent,it can be said that the social culture of Taiwan Province is a replica of the social culture of the coastal society of Fujian, and so,as a whole,we claim that the regional culture of Taiwan is an important part of the Chinese culture. But we must also see that there is no doubt about the cultural commonalities and geographical differences that have developed in immigrant society and its processes. On the one hand,as branches of Chinese culture,we have to recognize that southeastern cultures and Chinese Taiwan cultures have an unbroken lineage with Chinese culture. On the other hand,we have to see that the special historical background, natural geographic environment, and socioeconomic conditions of Taiwan Province,as well as the influence of American and Western cultures on Taiwan after the war, have led to certain differences between today's Chinese Taiwan culture and the culture of the Southeast.Only by fully recognizing such commonalities and differences can we better promote cultural integration in Chinese mainland and Taiwan Province.
